Responsibilities:
The Tool and Die Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production tooling and dies to ensure optimal performance and product quality. This role supports production by ensuring that tools, dies, and related equipment are properly maintained, safe, and meet all quality standards. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain progressive dies, tooling, jigs, and fixtures to ensure consistent product quality and uptime.
  • Perform die changes, sharpening, adjustments, and rebuilds as required.
  • Diagnose and correct dimensional and functional issues with tools and dies.
  • Ensure dies are properly aligned, lubricated, and stored after production runs.
  • Maintain accurate tool and die maintenance records and documentation.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules for tooling and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot tooling-related issues and collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.
  • Recommend improvements in die design, materials, and processes to enhance tool life and performance.
  • Verify part quality by checking dimensions, clearances, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ensure all work complies with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling-related production defects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide feedback on tooling design and manufacturing processes for efficiency and durability.
  • Assist in training operators or maintenance personnel on proper tool and die handling procedures.
