Production Associate - Glass - 1st shift

Pay rate: $16/hr

• Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
• Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
• Follow defined clean‑up times
• Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
• Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
• Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for customers
• Identify problems and communicate issues
• Assist with training co‑workers
• Support a respectful workplace
• Perform other duties across the plant as needed and directed by supervision or management

• Ability to read tape measures as well as interpret fractions and decimals
• Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/visual cues
• Operate power tools with dexterity and know when to change PPE
• Identify hazards while understanding station safety protocols and PPE
• Knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
• Follow instruction and standard work, frequently referring to standard work instructions
• Knowledge of product defects specific to the workstation
• Quality recognition in station quality requirements/CTQ
• Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, sharing important information
• Time management and awareness of cycle times
• Ability to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, safety glasses
• Dependability, punctuality and detail orientation
• High school diploma is preferred
• Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
• Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds for 8 to 12 hours a day is required
• Ability to work in a hot & cold environment is required
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed is required
• Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross‑trained) is required
• Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and standing for long periods is required
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations is required
• Follow supervisor instructions/directions as given is required
• Possess skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative
• Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
