Position: Production Engineering Technician (2nd Shift)
Location: Pinetops

Overview

ABB is a global technology company. This position supports production process definition to optimize cost, quality, and on-time delivery. The role involves analysis of production processes, cycle time calculations, and sharing cycle time data with internal teams. The work model for the role is on site, contributing to the Electrification Division in Pinetops, North Carolina.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support production process definition to ensure optimization of cost, quality, and on-time delivery of product. Each day, you will participate in the sequence definition, cycle time calculation, and analysis of the working phases of new production processes/products. You will also showcase your expertise by sharing cycle time data with internal teams.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Preparing technical documentation regarding the process phases, related methods, and cycle times.
  • Supporting production during start-ups by training indirect and direct staff.
  • Ensuring that updated process and technical documentation are provided to Supply Chain Management teams to support supplier evaluations and proper supplier agreements.
  • Participating in the definition of action plans, training of relevant Maintenance and Production teams, and other support activities during the internal/external process and equipment start-up.
Qualifications For

The Role
  • 3 years of experience working on maintenance, design, and implementation of electromechanical projects (design & execution of fixturing, wiring, flow systems, etc).
  • Minimum of Associate Degree in a program related field preferred.
  • Mechanical or Electromechanical technician.
  • Knowledge on Robotics, control systems and automation is a plus.
  • Ability to understand mechanical and electrical drawings. Be able to develop them.
  • Knowledge on 3D CAD software and 3D printing is desirable (AutoCAD, Solid Works).
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing tools is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and work with diverse discipline project teams.
  • Ability to learn new methods and technologies.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
