Material Handler (Forklift Operator) – 2nd Shift

Location: 7220 US Highway 158, Stokesdale, NC 27357

Work Arrangement: On Site

Pay: $19.60 per hour + benefits

Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM, Monday–Thursday (OT as needed)

• Obtain a forklift certification
• Follow all forklift rules and safety regulations
• Keep all doorways, aisles, electrical panel boxes, and fire extinguishers clear at all times
• Make sure all trash is dumped at least daily or more often as necessary
• Notify the supervisor of any damage to the forklift or buildings immediately
• Ensure all units are tagged and banded securely before placing material in bays
• Learn all RF and QAD functions related to material handling and demonstrate ability to use these functions
• Perform end‑of‑shift work‑center audits and notify supervision and inventory control of issues
• Properly carry loads at a safe speed per forklift training and sign‑offs
• Maintain safety around pedestrians and work‑center personnel
• Perform required maintenance checks at the required intervals
• Keep bays at least 18 inches away from the wall and maintain a 3‑foot aisleway between warehouse bays
• Keep bays of material in order, organized, and safe
• Perform necessary housekeeping duties to keep the warehouse neat and organized by 5S standards and standard work
• Maintain good communication with other lift drivers on common, as well as off‑shifts

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years old
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Pass a written exam and driving test for forklift certification
• Work independently while maintaining material availability to work centers
• Good hand‑eye coordination and mechanical aptitude for forklift controls

• One year of manufacturing setting experience

• Perform frequent hand, wrist, and arm motions and sit on a forklift for the entire 10‑hour shift, including multiple get‑on/off cycles
• Walk, bend, twist, stoop, and lift approximately 35 lbs.
• Withstand heat up to 95°F
• Be exposed to wood dust and aluminum with no significant hazards present
