Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Injection Mold Process Technician to join our manufacturing team in Bessemer City, NC. This position is responsible for optimizing injection molding processes, troubleshooting production issues, improving cycle times, and ensuring consistent product quality. The ideal candidate has hands-on injection molding experience, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, start up, and optimize injection molding machines to achieve maximum efficiency and product quality
- Monitor molding processes and make process adjustments to improve cycle times and reduce scrap
- Troubleshoot molding defects and implement corrective actions
- Perform mold changes and assist with machine setup as needed
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve process-related issues
- Maintain process documentation, setup sheets, and production records
- Assist with first-piece inspections and ensure products meet quality specifications
- Support preventative maintenance activities on molding equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures
- Assist with training machine operators on proper processing techniques and equipment operation
- 1–5 years of experience as an Injection Mold Process Technician or Injection Molding Setup Technician
- Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and scientific molding principles
- Experience setting process parameters including temperatures, pressures, injection speeds, and cycle times
- Experience performing mold changes and machine startups
- Ability to troubleshoot molding defects and process issues
- Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with RJG, Scientific Molding, or Decoupled Molding processes
- Experience with robotic automation and auxiliary equipment
- Knowledge of mold maintenance and tooling
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Technical degree or certification in Plastics Technology, Manufacturing, or Industrial Maintenance
