Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician

We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician for our Protection and Automation Panel Assembly Workshop (PA PAWS) team on 1st shift in Wendell, NC. As an Electro-Mechanical Assembler Technician, you will be responsible for assemble, wire, and prepare Industrial Control Panels (ICPs) that power automation and control systems for electrical substations. These panels support medium-voltage distribution equipment and are essential to protection and automation applications.

Hourly Rate: $20.36

Basic Qualifications

• Completed High School Diploma/ GED
• Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must be able to lift parts or sub-assemblies that weigh up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or in progress, if able to work full-time)
• Residential or commercial electrical education or certifications
• Experience in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Ability to conduct thorough final inspections on all electrical equipment, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
• Experience with various test equipment, including Hi-pot testing.
• Proficiency in reading schematic drawings, layouts, and wire lists for circuit troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sub-assembly and final mechanical assembly.
• Wiring with high accuracy and workmanship, including proper stripping, crimping, routing, and dressing techniques.
• Work with large power cables, ensuring correct crimping methods, and assemble components on panels per layouts or drawings.
• Record job transactions, read BOMs, follow layouts and assembly drawings.
• Read and interpret schematic and wiring diagrams to support proper assembly and wiring of equipment.
• Set and use torque wrenches correctly, adhering to developed processes and seeking ways to improve.
• Adherence to Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety policies, with a commitment to continuous improvement and be a strong team player.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
