Assembler – Weekend Shift

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Assembler – Weekend Shift.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.

The primary function of the job is to perform winding, assembly, complex and repetitive wiring, and to produce complete sub-assemblies, and final assembly of control equipment. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies.

• A. Works from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment.
• B. Determines necessary parts and material, and prepares requisition to obtain parts and material from stock.
• C. Prepares wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals.
• D. Route out, assembles, wires, adjusts, fits and modifies parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly.
• E. May require lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement.
• F. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards, and makes necessary adjustments and alignment when required.
• G. Executes engineering and customer changes and makes repairs as required.
• H. Reports irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach.
• I. Maintains records as required.
• J. Observes all safety and hygiene rules and regulations.
• K. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
• L. Other assignments as required.
• M. Operator of power tools, including battery powered and compressed air.

• Mechanical/Electrical background

• Able to lift 35 pounds — waist, shoulder, overhead
• Able to read blue prints and wiring diagrams
• Proven history of safe work habits
• Must be able to work effectively without direct supervision
• Computer skills — Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.
• Must be able to work overtime — weekdays and weekends
