AIR JET Texturing Operator - 1st Shift

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.
2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.

Job Summary:

Operate multiple machines to produce textured and fluffed yarn.

Essential Functions:

Perform the following duties in accordance with ISO 9001 work instructions and standards.

Operate multiple air jet texturing machines to meet production quotas.

Order yarn materials as needed for yarn attendants.

Put tubes of raw yarn on creel for Air Jet texturing machine to draw.

Doffs off tubes from machine and puts tubes of yarn in appropriate boxes.

Complete production paperwork accurately.

Advise yarn technician of yarn quality.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals.

Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job.

Safety:

Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.

Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.

Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.

Follow the 5 S Standards as described in the associate handbook.

Hearing protection in high noise areas as needed to do the job safely.

Qualifications:

Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.

Meet all pre-employment requirements.

Ability to discern colors and shades.

High School Diploma preferred
