Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:00 AM

Job Overview

We are seeking a Skins Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a long-term opportunity for candidates who are looking to build stability and grow with the company. The ideal candidate will have previous machine operation or maintenance experience and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

What is a Skins Operator?

The Skins Operator is responsible for operating equipment used in the production of fiberglass/door skins, inspecting materials for quality defects, and ensuring products meet production specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Follow standard work instructions to maintain a safe and orderly work area.
  • Operate slitter tables, presses, and limited robotic functions.
  • Inspect raw materials and fiberglass skins for quality defects.
  • Follow proper procedures when identifying and escalating scrap material.
  • Maintain hour-by-hour production updates for the assigned area.
  • Read and interpret production schedules and work orders.
  • Continuously monitor operations to ensure quality production.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Manager.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous machine operation or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 49 lbs. regularly.
Work Environment

The position is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, vibrations, and loud noises. All required safety protocols and OSHA guidelines must be followed.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift up to 49 lbs.
  • Must have the visual ability to perform inspections, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
