This position is responsible for performing the assembly, welding, and rework of industrial gas and steam turbine components, including rings, vanes, and small parts, with minimal supervision while meeting manufacturing and customer specifications. Daily duties include reading and interpreting work travelers, blueprints, and related documentation to determine welding requirements; setting up and operating welding equipment and workstations; selecting the appropriate weld wire and materials based on product specifications;

preparing, polishing, and inspecting components prior to welding; and performing structural and cosmetic welds in accordance with established manufacturing standards. The role also involves ensuring quality workmanship, supporting new part manufacturing processes, and completing assigned production tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently.

• Perform precision TIG and laser welding on industrial gas and steam turbine components, including rings, vanes, castings, and nickel alloy parts, ensuring all work meets engineering, manufacturing, and customer specifications.
• Support production goals by assembling, repairing, and reworking components while maintaining workflow efficiency, minimizing defects, and delivering high-quality finished products.
• Interpret work travelers, blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering instructions to accurately execute welding operations and ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Prepare, inspect, polish, and weld components using the appropriate materials, weld wire, and techniques to achieve structural integrity and cosmetic quality standards.
• Drive product quality by conducting visual inspections, evaluating completed welds for conformance, and identifying opportunities for continuous process and workmanship improvement.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment by setting up and troubleshooting welding equipment, performing routine maintenance activities, collaborating with maintenance teams, and supporting cross-functional manufacturing objectives.

• High school diploma or GED, plus completion of a certified welding program resulting in a vocational diploma, or a minimum of two years of equivalent hands‑on TIG welding experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in one or more welding processes, including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and/or Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Arc), with the ability to consistently produce high‑quality welds.
