As Production Order Manager at the Winston Technology Center, you will play a critical role in driving the seamless execution of manufacturing orders for large steam turbine and generator components. Your day will focus on production order scheduling, material expediting, and proactive bottleneck resolution to support on-time delivery, capacity planning, and lead-time optimization across manufacturing operations.

Working closely with Production Management, Engineering Support, Project Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Logistics teams, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of production orders from release through final assembly. You will monitor order progress, coordinate material availability, communicate order status, and resolve production constraints to ensure business continuity and support the successful execution of steam turbine manufacturing projects, including support for steam turbine and rotor assembly operations.

• Manage and track the end-to-end lifecycle of production orders for steam turbine and generator components, ensuring alignment with manufacturing schedules, assembly requirements, and customer delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with shop floor supervisors, production schedulers, and project teams to monitor order progress, identify schedule risks, and resolve capacity constraints before they impact delivery.
• Expedite critical parts, raw materials, and subassemblies by partnering with procurement and logistics teams to prevent production disruptions and maintain workflow continuity.
• Analyze material availability, inventory levels, and production requirements to support continuous manufacturing operations while minimizing excess work-in-process (WIP).
• Resolve material discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality holds through close collaboration with supply chain, engineering, and production stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering Support, Production Management, and Project Management teams, providing regular updates on production order status, KPIs, and bottleneck resolution efforts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within production order management processes to support operational efficiency, capacity planning, and lead-time optimization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in production planning, materials expediting, order management, or manufacturing operations within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing production schedules, order life cycles, capacity planning, and materials coordination to support manufacturing execution and on-time delivery.
• Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory control, expediting, logistics coordination, and supply chain optimization principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP PP/MM modules, as well as data analysis, KPI tracking, and Excel-based reporting.
• Understanding of manufacturing assembly processes; experience supporting steam turbine and rotor assembly operations is preferred.
• Steam turbine manufacturing experience is a plus.
