Salary Range: $60.00 To $70.00 Hourly
Location: Liberty, NC
Work Environment: On‑site, Monday–Friday
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Overtime: Approximately 20%
Travel: Approximately 5% domestic/international

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support battery manufacturing operations, capital projects, production readiness, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
This position will focus on designing, analyzing, improving, and documenting manufacturing systems and processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and operational efficiency
.
- Analyze production requirements and develop efficient manufacturing concepts.
- Improve production flow, material flow, staffing, work balance, and equipment/facility layouts
. - Perform cycle‑time studies, line balancing, bottleneck analysis, capacity planning, and utilization analysis
. - Develop capacity models and evaluate labor, equipment, shift, and production requirements.
- Lead and support Kaizen and continuous‑improvement activities
. - Perform structured root‑cause analysis and implement sustainable countermeasures.
- Develop manufacturing KPIs, dashboards, reports, and executive summaries
. - Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, losses, constraints, and opportunities.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, trials, production readiness, ramp‑up, and handover.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Facilities, vendors, contractors, and engineering teams.
A key part of this position is developing and maintaining clear, repeatable engineering processes.
Responsibilities include creating and improving:
- Engineering standards and procedures
- Technical guides and specifications
- Work instructions and process maps
- Check sheets and templates
- Training materials
- Equipment acceptance and commissioning documentation
- Lessons learned and process‑control documentation
The position will also support document control, revision management, technical reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering
, or a related technical discipline. - 5+ years of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production systems, or closely related experience.
- Experience supporting high‑volume manufacturing, automated production, equipment implementation, or manufacturing‑system improvement
. - Hands‑on experience with:
- Capacity planning
- Time studies
- Line balancing
- Labor planning
- Bottleneck analysis
- Production/facility layouts
- Material flow
- Standardized work
- Experience developing or significantly revising engineering procedures, standards, specifications, technical manuals, or training materials.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and manufacturing data‑analysis skills.
- Strong analytical, technical‑writing, project‑management, and cross‑functional communication skills.
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Automotive or battery manufacturing
- Battery cell, module, or pack production
- High‑volume automated manufacturing
- Greenfield startups or brownfield modifications
- Equipment commissioning, launch, or production ramp‑up
- Power BI, SQL, Python, Minitab, or Tableau
- Flex Sim, Any Logic, Plant Simulation, digital twins, or similar modeling tools
- Toyota Production System (TPS)
- Kaizen, PDCA, A3, TBP, JKK, or value‑stream mapping
- Engineering standards/governance and lessons‑learned systems
