Operations Team Member Ramseur, NCShift: 12hrs day/night
Pay rate: $15
The Operations Team Member contributes to the success of the company by supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of geogrid and related construction materials. This is a flexible, cross functional role that collaborates with other operations team members to ensure continuous production across weaving, warping, coating, and roll handling processes. This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, physical stamina, and strong communication skills.
The Operations Team Member will rotate between multiple areas of the production floor as needed to maintain workflow, minimize downtime, and meet production demands.
- Safety Wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures outlined in work instructions.
- Safely operate around moving machinery and mechanical components.
- Distinguish between colored indicator lights on machinery (e.g., yellow, blue, red) to identify equipment status.
- Meet hearing requirements for high-noise areas and consistently use required hearing protection.
- Maintain a strong personal safety record and always demonstrate safe work habits.
- Communicate effectively in English to receive training and operate within the production environment.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and retain training information.
- Remain on feet for extended 12-hour shifts, except for scheduled breaks.
- Walk between assigned machines and access catwalks attached to looms as required.
- Lift and position yarn cones weighing approximately 25 lbs. onto creel racks.
- Pull cones from racks and reach across looms to repair yarn breaks as needed.
- Push and reposition creel or cone racks during setup and operation.
- Manage responsibility for multiple machines (typically 13–23) and work independently.
- Apply basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately.
- Demonstrate prior experience with machinery or a strong interest in working with industrial equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized weaving and production area.
- Ensure work spaces remain free of hazards and debris to promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with fellow operations team members to ensure all production areas remain staffed and operational.
- Request assistance proactively when support is needed to maintain production flow.
- Notify shipping personnel when finished materials are ready for inventory entry and warehouse storage.
- Inform maintenance technicians immediately when equipment concerns are identified on weaving, coating, or roll handling equipment.
- Operate weaving machines and warping equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Thread yarn and manage creel rack setup during warping operations.
- Identify, diagnose, and correct yarn breakouts during weaving and warping processes.
- Make timely operational adjustments to maintain continuous production.
- Monitor coating levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for coating line settings.
- Doff finished rolls in a timely manner to maintain continuous line operation.
- Transport finished rolls to the roll-wrapper line and properly stretch-wrap rolls.
- Place wrapped rolls onto pallets when required and transport finished goods to designated staging areas.
- Build and wrap full pallets in preparation for storage or shipment.
- Perform hourly quality checks and correct identified issues to meet production standards.
- Conduct basic production tests including weight, dimension, and tensile verification.
- Identify and communicate quality concerns promptly to supervisors or technicians.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple production processes.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the role.
- Be ready and willing to perform any other duties as defined by your supervisor.
