Day3 launched in 2003 with a mission to make disciples and provide a modern-style church that would reach a new generation. We are located minutes from Lenoir Rhyne University, Appalachian State University, and several community colleges. We are seeking a strategic, pastoral leader to strengthen and oversee our Next Generation ministries.
Role SummaryThe Next Gen Pastor provides strategic oversight of all birth–college ministries, with primary responsibility for leading and strengthening Day3 Kids (birth–6th grade). This role ensures operational excellence, healthy systems, volunteer development, and alignment across Kids, Youth, and College Ministries. The Next Gen Pastor serves as the full-time staff lead and pastoral guide for the volunteer leaders in Youth and Children’s Ministries, to support inter-ministry communication and strategy.
He is also charged with developing vision and strategy for future College Ministry Next Gen Pastor also provides pastoral support to parents and families.
- Lead all operations of Kids Ministry (birth–6th grade).
- Plan and execute weekly services and any discipleship programming.
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers.
- Oversee safety, environments, and systems (training, background checks, etc).
- Lead key events (VBS, family events, team gatherings, etc.).
- Maintain strong communication and partnership with parents.
- Provide coaching, accountability, and pastoral support to volunteers and teams in Youth ministries.
- Strengthen leadership development and discipleship pathways.
- Ensure alignment with church vision and ministry standards.
- Offer guidance on events, systems, and volunteer culture.
- Establish long-term vision, strategy, and systems for ongoing college ministry at Day
3. - Provide coaching, accountability, and pastoral support to volunteer leaders and teams.
- Strengthen leadership development and discipleship pathways.
Ensure alignment with church vision and ministry standards. - Offer guidance on events, systems, and volunteer culture.
- Develop a unified Next Gen discipleship strategy.
- Manage budgets, supplies, and ministry systems.
- Communicate regularly with families.
- Participate in staff meetings and church-wide strategy.
