The Chatham County Partnership for Children is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support and advance the organization’s fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Research and Development Director, this position plays a key role in building and strengthening our development function through donor engagement, stewardship, partnership development, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities- Support the development and execution of the organization’s annual fundraising plan
- Assist in building and sustaining a strong base of individual donors
- Serve as staff liaison to the Board Fundraising Committee (coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, present updates)
- Maintain and update a detailed development work plan in collaboration with leadership
- Manage donor database systems, including data entry, reporting, and gift processing
- Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgements (within 48 hours)
- Coordinate monthly reconciliation with the Finance team
- Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with donors, including sharing impact updates
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Support fundraising efforts across individuals, foundations, corporations, and local businesses
- Track and assist with grant proposals and reporting in collaboration with the Research & Development Director
- Ensure clear documentation and fulfillment of partnership commitments
- Lead planning and execution of the annual Reindeer Run 5K Race
, including logistics, sponsor ships, and volunteer coordination - Support additional fundraising and donor engagement events, including event setup, logistics, and evaluation
- Coordinate direct mail campaigns in partnership with internal staff and external vendors
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor management, and/or public relations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., CandI, Greater Giving, or similar systems)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills
- Self-starter with high energy, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
- Passion for the mission of supporting children and families in Chatham County
- Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
- Salary Range: $44,821 – $55,000 (commensurate with experience)
