REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Skills

Required: Master’s degree from an accredited institution in non-profit management, business, public administration, communications, education,organizational leadership,or related field.

Experience

Required:Five years of fundraising experience, including managing institutional development, major gift solicitation, planned giving, events planning, grants, targeted drives for corporate and foundation donations, and sponsor ships with demonstrated leadership experience.

Position Description SUMMARY

The Director of Development is responsible for leading and organizing the college’s institutional advancement program that provides strong financial support and institutional resource development for James Sprunt Community College’s academic agenda, programmatic initiatives and construction projects. The Director of Development is responsible for implementing the College’s fundraising, annual giving, planned giving, foundation and corporate sponsor ships, grant development and campaign programs. The Director of Development will also serve as the Executive Director for the James Sprunt Foundation, Inc.

and serves as a liaison between the Foundation Board of Directors and James Sprunt Community College. This position drives all fundraising strategies and donor relations. The Executive Director role will also oversee daily Foundation operations and provide support to advancement staff.

This position serves on the President’s Council and reports to the President.
