Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist II

Overview

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level II provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric up to geriatric population, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. The CRNA Level II utilizes skills obtained through additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients with complex and unique anesthetic requirements. Works primarily in Community Medical Centers and provides coverage to other Community Medical Centers, ASCs, HOPDs, and a Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA sites as directed by NH Anesthesia Leadership.

The role is primarily at a Tertiary Medical Center with Multispecialty Trauma Services & multiple NORA sites and does not participate in at least one Anesthesia Specialty such as Complex NORA (includes EP/Cath Lab/all Radiology), Cardiac, Neuro, Neonatal. The position takes “Call from Home” as part of the facility scheduling model (call exemption subject to leader discretion) and may float to other facilities as needed due to staffing needs.

All team members will practice within the full scope of their CRNA privileges.

Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week, variable hours

Provide professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric populations, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. Utilize advanced training, education, and experience to manage patients with complex and unique anesthetic requirements. Maintain adherence to the facility’s scheduling model, including call from home, and float to other facilities as needed to support staffing.

• Education: BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia. Certified by NBCRNA as a CRNA and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA. Must meet NBCRNA continuing education requirements every four years.
• Experience: Previous experience not required. Four to six week orientation period for new graduates (with preceptor) is required. Orientation for experienced providers depends on prior experience and clinical skills.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state;
  Current CRNA endorsement in appropriate state; NBCRNA certification; ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications per NH policy.

  Extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment. Ability to modify the anesthetic plan to the patient’s age. Ability to make independent decisions under stress and maintain professionalism with patients, coworkers, and physicians.
