Schedule:

3x12, Days (7 p‑7 a), Rotating Weekends

Swain Community Hospital is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network. As a Med‑Surg CNA, you will provide direct care to inpatients, observation, and swing bed patients, supporting their recovery and independence.

• Perform basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including vital sign monitoring, blood glucose measurements, and intake/output recording.
• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living—bathing, grooming, eating, ambulation.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Help maintain patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean, and orderly.

Applicants must have a current listing as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the State of North Carolina Division of Facility Services and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

• Certifications:
  
  AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Skills:
  
  Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licenses:
  Current CNA listing with no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation.
• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Telemetry Tech ONLY:
  Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation, if required by the department director.
• Unit Secretary ONLY:
  Completion of training in basic unit secretary tasks (e.g., transcription of physician orders, computer data entry).
