A 61-bed medical-surgical unit specializing in the care of orthopedic and stroke patients. The unit serves a diverse population with a broad range of medical conditions and surgical needs, including post-operative recovery and acute medical management. This fast‑paced environment offers a dynamic setting where nurses develop strong clinical skills while managing a variety of patient cases. It is an ideal unit for nurses who enjoy a high level of activity, adaptability, and the opportunity to care for a wide spectrum of patient populations.
We’reLooking For
- Graduation from an accredited LPN training program and licensed practical nurse licensure in the state.
- Previous experience as an LPN in a clinical or other health care setting preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines.
- Provide nursing care activities consistent with education, training, and licensure according to an established health care plan, as delegated by the registered nurse or physician.
- Direct or escort patients to various clinical areas, prepare patients and assist with examinations and assessments, make observations, collect data, and report information. Perform physical and physiologic measurements using standardized guidelines.
- Serve as liaison between patient and provider. Administer and document medications ordered by the providers. Call in medication orders to the patient’s pharmacy.
- Assist with the interpretation of patient related data. Recognize relationships between data gathered and patient’s health care status and treatment regimens.
- Participate in recording and reporting responsibilities. Document findings relevant to patient’s health care status or plan of care, document accurately and consistently in accordance with approved policies/procedures.
- Review and document all procedures, medications, supplies, or additional testing done on the patient’s chart.
- Triage and document all incoming patient phone calls regarding medications, medical conditions and review with the provider when indicated, the necessary care ordered.
- Clean and stock examination rooms and/or other supply areas.
- Participate in clinical research studies by performing data collection and/or quality assurance.
- Participate in regular team meetings and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Maintain knowledge of care teams for coordination of patient care, self‑management, population management, and communication skills.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and protocols.

- Knowledge of common safety hazards and universal precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
- Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

- Frequent exposure to diseases, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
- Base compensation within the listed pay range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training.
