About the Position

Travel Nurse Source  is collaborating with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to place a qualified IMC RN in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, 28777.

Job Title and Schedule

Title: Travel RN – Acute Care (PCU / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type: Contract | Travel | 13‑Week Assignment | Full‑Time | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Rotating Weekends | Projected Start: 06/05/2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 25–27 bed acute care / PCU unit, maintaining safe and effective patient ratios on day shift.
  • Operate and monitor telemetry, continuous O2, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Baxter pumps, and patient lifts.
  • Perform wound care and other unit-level procedures as assigned.
  • Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR.
  • Float to the Emergency Department as needed per unit guidelines.
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, HUCs, and house supervisors as part of a team-oriented care environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state.
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute care, PCU, or stepdown setting.
  • Demonstrated telemetry experience (required; candidates without will not be considered).
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • NIHSS certification required.
  • Ability to work rotating weekends and maintain scheduling flexibility.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • ICU experience preferred; candidates with this background will be given priority consideration.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach to patient care.
