- Play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Engage in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Uphold and promote a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practice ethical decision-making, respect interdisciplinary roles, and contribute to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess age‑specific needs.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- At least 1 year of RN experience.
- 1+ years of OR experience strongly preferred.
- Base compensation within the listed pay range of $38.20 - $57.30.
- Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job.
