Coverage Area: Andrews, NC

Schedule: 2 nonconsecutive weekdays, daytime hours — you choose the days! Can be full-time if partnered with multiple facilities nearby

Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – SNF-ist

What You Will Do

Act as a Skilled Nursing Facility’s leading provider of internal medicine services.

Collaborate with the facility’s interdisciplinary team and physicians, serving as a day-to-day clinical leader while helping oversee the care of all the facility’s residents.

Oversee the entire facility’s patient population – short and long-term residents – in day-to-day care with the assistance of nursing staff and guidance from medical directors and attending physicians.

Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments under protocol in direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.

Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.

Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.

Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures.

Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.

Communicate with attending physicians and/or specialists regarding patient care.

Be comfortable and proficient with documentation and CPT coding.

Conduct monthly stability visits for long-term residents.

Conduct evaluations for patients exhibiting changes in condition.

Engage in advanced care planning.

What You Will Need

Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Active license and DEA number.

Previous Experience In Nursing Or Other Medical Fields

Minimum one-year experience in a Skilled Nursing setting (preferred).

Ability to build rapport with patients and their loved ones.

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong leadership experience with emphasis on teamwork in a healthcare setting.

Education

Master’s Degree required.
