Schedule Details: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay Range: $24.10 – $36.15 per hour
- Provide care or arrange for appropriate care for patients within the scope of nursing practice and specialty of the office setting.
- Accurately document all patient care and interactions in the medical record.
- Participate in telephone triage to obtain clinically appropriate data and advise patients according to established protocols or provider orders.
- Track and log all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests, presenting results to the provider.
- Assist with pre‑visit planning with providers and the care team.
- Administer medication, including injections.
- Check vital signs, height, weight.
- Review medication history and update medication lists.
- Assist with health maintenance requirements as needed.
- Assist providers during procedures and examinations; perform instrument and room clean‑up.
- Utilize standard precautions and comply with OSHA, CLIA, and TJC regulations.
- Report patient condition and reaction to the provider following procedures or treatments.
- Assist patients with prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization.
- Participate in electronic documentation of care at the provider’s direction.
- Enter orders in EMR (CPOE) per provider order when required.
- Complete CLIA‑approved waived laboratory tests and practice‑specific diagnostics, including point‑of‑care testing for HbA1C and others; perform QC and maintenance for POCT.
- Perform venipuncture and assist with specimen collection (e.g., urine, blood) for laboratory testing; complete requisitions and prepare specimens for pickup.
- Provide patients with a discharge summary and review it at the end of the visit.
- Manage vaccine and pharmaceutical orders, monitor inventory levels, and comply with state immunization registry regulations.
Require walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must lift and support a load of 35 pounds. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Must speak, read, and write basic English fluently. Intact vision, hearing, smell, touch, and manual finger dexterity.
Education, Experience and CertificationsLicensed Practical Nurse with an active license in the applicable state. Graduate of an accredited practical nursing school. Previous medical office experience preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
