Under broad supervision, provide assistance to public health nurses and county programs. Provide general direct nursing care, including medical treatments, administering medication, and giving injections. Assign to specific clinical duties within the scope of an LPN practice in public health and act as the lead worker over specified projects or programs.

All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential in the event of an emergency. Participation may include staffing a shelter, Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC), or Point of Distribution site (POD) during emergencies, whether during regular work hours or not.

• Administers immunizations to all age patients according to established guidelines & procedures.
• Performs annual school & daycare immunization audits.
• Completes quarterly reports.
• Assists with annual scoliosis screenings.
• Participates in health fairs and educational programs.
• Performs TB screenings and administers PPD skin test, in clinic and outreach events.
• Prepares to respond to public health emergencies and responds as directed.
• Uses computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data.
• Participates in program planning.
• Communicates in writing, orally, and through electronic means, with proper terminology and cultural proficiency.
• Incorporates strategies for interacting with persons from diverse backgrounds (e.g., cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental and physical capabilities).
• Adheres to the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Uses individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities for personal and professional development.
• Trains to provide front desk duties as backup coverage.
• Assists with working up patients, including vital signs, medical history, and medication review.
• Manages medication and vaccine inventory.

Annual salary: $33,000

• Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
• Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification.
• Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
• No experience required.

Annual salary: $35,800

• Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
• Two years of LPN public health experience.
• Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification.

Annual salary: $38,926.79

• Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
• Four years of LPN public health experience.
• Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification.

• Public Nursing Health experience.
• Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and interviewing patients.
• Bilingual Spanish/English Speaking Language.
