Adjunct Instructor - Nursing
The nursing instructor is responsible for the planning, selection, organization, implementation, supervision, facilitation, and evaluation of the total learning experience of nursing students. The instructor may teach seated (in‑person) and online classes.
Full Time or Part TimePosition may be full‑time or part‑time. Clinical instructor opportunities can be in Wilkes County, Ashe County, Forsyth County, or Iredell County.
Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for preparing and teaching the assigned course/clinical according to course outlines or schedules.
- Maintain accurate records and submit all college reports in a timely manner.
- Participate in curriculum meetings and curriculum revision as necessary.
- Be familiar with and adhere to college policies.
- Manage a clinical group of up to ten nursing students in a variety of clinical settings and serve as a mentor/role model.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and willingness to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) within five years of hire.
- Current and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
- Two calendar years of full‑time clinical experience as an RN.
- Current BLS certification.
- Up‑to‑date immunizations for clinical sites.
- Excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to work effectively with students, co‑workers, management, and clinical site staff.
- MSN in Nursing Education or enrollment in an MSN in Nursing Education program.
Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office or classroom setting with appropriate climate controls. Travel, early morning, evening, and weekend work may be required.
Essential functions require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sitting only occasionally; walking and standing are required regularly. Incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle.
Mental application includes using memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem‑solving skills.
SalarySalary is $35.17 per hour for BS and $36.93 per hour for MS.
