Job SummaryCollaborates with the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) and/or the Regional Director of Nursing to plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions of the clinic. Coordinate the activities of the unit and direct, organize, and assign work to the nurses and pharmacy technicians. Assess, monitor, and educate the nursing staff on patient care. Institute emergency procedures as necessary. Assures compliance with all job breakdown instructions (JBIs) and regulations to the assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities- Work in collaboration with all office departments to ensure continuity of patient care and smooth office flow.
- Prepare schedules for clinic nurses and pharmacy technicians; collaborate with CNM and/or OM to ensure coverage for patient schedules and staff time off.
- Collaborate with CNM to plan orientation of new nurses and pharmacy technicians; review and assess skills of new employees to determine need for further training.
- Responsible for completion of incident reports and adverse event reports.
- Coordinate with nurses to ensure patient education is completed prior to initiation of new medication; oversee packet assembly for patient education material.
- Act as a resource for staff regarding policies and procedures; collaborate with CNM on clinical policy, procedure, and regulatory changes and communicate them to nursing and pharmacy staff.
- Support clinical trials; communicate with Research Coordinator to ensure patient care is achieved.
- Work with purchasing department to maintain appropriate PAR levels and minimize waste; have thorough knowledge of Nucleus medication dispensing system; oversee ordering of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patients' rights, safety, billing, HR, and collections.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and the Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
- Be prepared to work at any AON location to meet business needs; expect overtime with sufficient notice.
- Attend and participate in CNM and RDN scheduled meetings.
- Function and staff as a Registered Nurse when necessary (perform port flushes, injections, infusions, support nurse triage).
- Ensure completion of daily variance report and resolution of unsigned charges.
- Create and maintain a positive, high‑quality work environment.
- Daily direction and communication to employees so departmental work is performed efficiently and knowledgeably.
- Create and maintain a high‑quality work environment that motivates team members.
- Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures.
- Discuss methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to internal and external customers.
- Establish work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
- Provide performance feedback and coaching on a regular basis with each nurse/pharmacy technician.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster cooperation and a harmonious climate.
- Provide appropriate coaching, counseling, direction, and resolution to staff nurses when applicable.
- Interview job applicants and provide feedback.
- Unencumbered RN License in the state of employment or multi‑state licensure.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse license.
- OCN certification required within two years of employment.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and off‑site meetings; compliance with company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
- At least two years of experience with hematology/
