Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care in the Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby unit, including couplet care for mothers and their newborns. The RN will assist with various obstetric procedures and support breastfeeding and lactation. This position requires floating to other units when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for mothers and newborns in a couplet care setting with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Assist with sterile exams, including speculum exams and fetal monitoring (both external and internal).
• Recognize and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns.
• Support mothers with breastfeeding and lactation needs.
• Document care and patient progress using the EPIC system.
• Participate in call shifts as required, with a minimum of 2 mandatory call shifts per schedule.
• Assist with cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Active RN license (NC or Compact license acceptable).
• Certifications required: BLS, AWHONN, and NRP.
• Traveler experience is required; local candidates are accepted.
