The Licensed Practical Nurse plays a critical role in the delivery of quality medical care with in the center. This position requires a person with strong clinical skills along with assessment and communication skills. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides care as described by the established policies and procedures of RCCHC. This position will provide clinical care in collaboration with other partnerships to achieve positive patient outcomes.

The Licensed Practical Nurse will model behaviors consistent with the published values and the Code of Conduct of RCCHC.

• Must demonstrate competencies in nursing practice

Current license as a LPN in state of North Carolina required

Work experience in a medical practice preferred

BLS certification required

• Knowledge and thorough understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) in regard to the Federal 330 Public Health Service Act
• Knowledge of thorough understanding of the 340B program
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

• Perform independent nursing functions using RCCHC established procedures, policies, and guidelines.
• Administer medications/immunizations as ordered by RCCHC providers, documenting accurately and observing patients for reactions
• Answer and return patient phone calls and other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communication is facilitated between all members of the care team
• Complete paperwork for assigned providers as per RCCHC guidelines
• Acts as a secondary point of contact for urgent or “walk-in” patients or patients telephoning in with urgent care complaints
• Establish reason for patient’s visit, completing the rooming process per established guidelines and documenting accurate data in the EHR
