Position Overview
This role is a Nursing Adjunct Faculty – Graduate NP position in the Division of Nursing (DON). Adjunct faculty provide instruction, mentorship, and clinical supervision in primary care family practice, contributing to the program’s curriculum and student success.
Responsibilities- Teach the required number of credit hours per semester based on contract.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and update the nursing program’s purpose, philosophy, objectives, and curriculum.
- Assist in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation using a written plan.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to students in assigned courses.
- Plan and deliver theoretical instruction and clinical or laboratory experiences aligned with the MSN–FNP program objectives.
- Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives and outcomes.
- Schedule administrative time for classroom, laboratory, clinical preparation, and student meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Earned MSN for didactic or clinical roles (or PharmD for pharmacology).
- At least two years of full‑time professional nursing clinical experience (if clinical practice).
- Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy for professional education.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and students.
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Current unrestricted RN license to practice in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain one). For NP courses, AANP or AANC NP/NM certification required.
- DNP preferred.
- Two or more years of full‑time teaching experience in a nursing program.
- Preparation in teaching and learning principles and nursing pedagogy.
- Experience in interdisciplinary teaching and scholarly collaboration.
- Commitment to liberal education, social determinants of health, and inclusive environments.
- Professional growth activities and conference participation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Canvas platforms.
- Appointment type:
Time‑limited - Length: 1–2 semesters
- Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience - Open date: 07/13/2026
- Close date: 04/30/2027
- No requirement for valid US driver’s license or commercial driver’s license.
- Upon hiring, must complete a Division of Nursing 12‑panel drug screen.
