American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring 3+ years of ER experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients in a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Float to all Harnett Health locations as needed, including both campuses
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Active NC or Compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Skills required:
IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care/management, blood product administration, starting and maintaining IVs, administration of emergency medications - Preferred skill: arterial line management
- Experience with psychiatric, drug overdose, and suicidal patients required
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- No background or license actions within the past 12 months
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
- Provide emergency care across a combined adult/pediatric population, including multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must be able and willing to float between both campuses based on staffing needs
- Scrub color is royal blue and white
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible for this position
- RTO limited to a maximum of 4 days, subject to manager discretion
- Only one major holiday may be requested off
- Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Night shift extensions limited to two, with a maximum of three total contracts, followed by a required six-month break before reapplying
- Pre-start modules required, estimated at 4-10 hours of non-billable time
