Job Description and QualificationsAmarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY – the global leader in opening solutions, is hiring a Quality Technician II
. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product integrity, process consistency, and customer satisfaction within our Mocksville, NC plant. The Quality Technician I also supports the plant by executing quality inspections, validating compliance to standards, and driving corrective and preventive actions that strengthen operational performance.
- Support and apply quality standards, procedures, and work instructions to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Verify that products and processes comply with internal quality expectations and customer specifications.
- Perform inspections and testing on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Document inspection results accurately and communicate findings to Production and Quality leadership.
- Monitor adherence to quality expectations throughout production and escalate concerns when needed.
- Identify defects, trends, and nonconformances.
- Document nonconforming material, deviations, and quality incidents per established procedures.
- Assist with root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Track corrective actions to closure and verify effectiveness.
- Assist with internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process performance.
- Partner with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Management to resolve quality issues.
- Provide clear guidance to Production teams on quality requirements and expectations.
- Communicate quality concerns professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and related documentation.
- Write, update, and maintain quality-related work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Train Production and support teams on quality standards, inspection criteria, and best practices.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members in quality processes.
- Maintain organized inspection areas, tools, gauges, and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, identification, and segregation of nonconforming material.
- Support plant safety standards while working throughout the manufacturing environment.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality assurance role.
- Experience working with quality tools such as gauges, calipers, or other testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or relevant college coursework.
- Prior production or manufacturing floor experience.
- Prior experience with QMS software.
- Continuous learner with a focus on adaptability and process improvement.

- Basic knowledge of company products and processes.
- Ability to operate laboratory-testing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to process data quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to be visible on the shop floor and engage with team members daily.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
- Presents other related duties as assigned by leadership.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull materials weighing more than 45 lbs. using team lifting procedures.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (8–12 hours per shift).
- Ability to safely move throughout the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs and/or ladders as required for job tasks.
