H&S Specialist

Overview

Cascades is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist at our Rockingham, NC facility. We focus on sustainable development and the well-being of our team. This role supports health and safety programs, standards, and compliance within the site.

• Support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs, standards, and compliance requirements across the facility.
• Assist supervisors and managers with safety processes, hazard identification, risk assessments, workplace inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate and support health and safety training programs, recordkeeping, safety communications, and employee awareness initiatives.
• Participate in incident investigations, including documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and follow-up.
• Monitor safety performance indicators, maintain compliance documentation, and support regulatory and operational audits.
• Contribute to emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response planning and drills.

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

• OSHA certification or other safety-related training.
• Internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience.
• Basic understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.

• Salary for Health and Safety Specialist starting from $51K plus yearly progress opportunities.
