Rubber Mill is a custom manufacturer specializing in converting rubber, foam, and nonwoven materials into custom components for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. Our quality team plays an important role in supporting production, customer satisfaction, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement. This position offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to manufacturing quality systems, customer and vendor quality communication, inspection processes, ISO documentation, and cross-functional problem solving in a hands-on environment.
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Assistant QA Manager will support the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the company’s quality systems, inspection processes, documentation, and customer/vendor quality communications. This role is designed for a detail-oriented, organized individual who is interested in developing into a future quality leadership position in a manufacturing environment.
This position will work closely with production, sales, purchasing, vendors, and customers to help ensure products meet customer requirements, internal standards, and applicable regulatory or compliance requirements. The role is intended to provide a growth path toward future Quality Control Manager responsibility over approximately 3–5 years, based on performance, business needs, and demonstrated readiness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Quality Control & Project Support- Coordinate and help prioritize quality control projects, including task assignment, follow-up, and verification of completion.
- Support daily inspection activities and help ensure inspection results are properly documented.
- Participate in material and part disposition decisions by gathering information, reviewing requirements, and coordinating with appropriate team members.
- Assist with customer quality issues, including NCRs, SCARs, scorecards, report cards, and follow-up documentation.
- Coordinate customer and vendor returns/RMAs, including communication, documentation, and internal follow-up.
- Serve as a quality point of contact for routine communications with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Prepare, review, and maintain Certificates of Compliance/Conformance and Material Certifications.
- Help improve and standardize quality documentation templates, forms, and records.
- Support ISO 9001:2015 audit preparation, documentation review, and follow-up activities.
- Assist with environmental compliance documentation and related recordkeeping.
- Support UL submissions, inspections, and related documentation requirements.
- Perform basic part area, weight, volume, and material usage calculations to support quality, estimating, and production decisions.
- Prepare, review, and organize Production Part Approval Process documentation, including required forms, test data, dimensional results, and supporting evidence.
- Coordinate PPAP submission activities with customers, vendors, and internal teams to help ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Provide quality control training and day-to-day assistance to team members as needed.
- Support tooling, die, and sampling decisions for new or revised parts.
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in business, manufacturing, quality, or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, customer quality, documentation control, or a related field preferred.
