Primarily responsible for assisting the store manager with day-to-day store operations. Assists with sales, store appearance, customer service, inventory, and management of employees, within established guidelines. Leads and directs store employees and supervises their performance, especially in the absence of the store manager. Takes initiative to improve customer service, drive store sales, and meet or exceed store goals/profitability. Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
Emphasizes team efforts. Helps model and set the tone for interaction with the customers and employees. Understands how that influences the public perception of ROC.
- High school graduation or equivalent, preferred.
- Knowledge of retail management and people management, a plus.
- Some knowledge of store operations, required – merchandising, inventory control, cash control.
- One year experience in retail management, C-store clerk, or store operations position.
- Experience and knowledge in the areas of management, financial reporting, customer service, inventory management, and other related operational areas.
- Demonstrated effective track record as store clerk.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Good people and customer interaction skills.
- Skills in areas of leadership, teaching, and motivating employees.
- Demonstrated attentiveness to details; mathematical analytical ability. Use of calculator.
- Good computer skills, e.g. point of sale system.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems – operational, customer, and employee.
- Ability to work independently in a high pressure and demanding environment.
- Ability to multi-task, i.e., pick-up where left off when interrupted.
