Sales Manager in Training - Technical Sales Representative
Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
Shift/

Working Hours:

8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility required for travel and customer needs.
About the Role
Pride Staff is partnering with a highly specialized manufacturing company in the greater Asheville, NC area to find their future Sales Manager. This is a dedicated 3-year Sales Manager in Training program that offers a unique and intensive path to leadership, focusing on selling a highly technical product to a base of committed, expert customers.
What You Will Do
  • Deep Technical Immersion: Spend your first year dedicated to mastering a highly complex product line, working side-by-side with the current Sales Manager to become a trusted expert.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing post-sale needs.
  • Own the Sales Cycle: Drive the entire sales process, from lead identification and detailed quotation through project monitoring and product delivery.
  • Independent Territory Management: Gradually assume leadership and begin managing your own sales territory and customer calls as you transition into a senior role.
  • Technical Communication: Effectively learn, understand, and explain complex chemical concepts and the utility of the product line to expert-level customers.
  • Reporting & Strategy: Maintain detailed sales activity reports and provide periodic territory sales forecasts to inform business strategy.
What You Will Bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in a business, engineering, or technical field or at least five (5) years of successful technical sales experience.
  • Proven ability and a strong desire to rapidly grasp and sell highly technical and complex products.
  • A foundation or working understanding of chemical compounds, preferably in the food or agriculture industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills, with a track record of building long-term relationships.
  • Willingness to commit to a multi-year development path and travel to effectively manage the assigned sales territory.
