Position: Service Technician I
Location: Madison

The Team Member in this position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of treatment and disposal systems and equipment. The incumbent will perform routine to complex technical and administrative assignments including analyzing and evaluating issues related to the treatment of water and wastewater and the disposal of treated wastewater effluent; may act for the Senior Leader - Operations as directed;

and do other work as required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential function of the position within the organization is to participate in the 7 day operation of Rockingham County to produce safe potable water. Under limited supervision, the position is responsible for maintaining chemical treatment levels, elevated tank levels, telemetry (SCADA) operations, maintaining plant equipment and grounds, providing customer service, performing laboratory test and analysis and maintaining regulatory logs and records.

US Citizen. E-Verification required;
No felonies or major misdemeanors. High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of experience in field operations programs. Possess NC C-Well Treatment Certification or must be willing to obtain C-Well Certification within one year of hire. Willing to train the right person. Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License. Excellent communication skills required including demonstrated fluency with reading, writing and speaking the English language.
