More About Our TeamOur Security team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property. Team members take a proactive approach to preventing theft, vandalism, and other risks while responding quickly and effectively to high‑risk or emergency situations. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and sound judgment.
How You'll Contribute- Proactively monitor hospital premises and respond quickly to potential or active security threats.
- Investigate, manage, and document all security incidents, hazards, and unusual activities.
- Follow and enforce established policies, including alarm systems and emergency/disaster preparedness procedures.
- Lead and participate in safety drills and simulations to ensure staff readiness.
- Provide guidance, assistance, and a visible security presence to support the safety of staff, patients, and visitors.
- Conduct regular patrols to prevent theft, vandalism, fire risks, and unauthorized access.
- Manage traffic and parking flow while maintaining accurate reports, records, and security documentation.
Prn: rotating shifts.

Much walking is required; the position requires mobility, bending, occasional lifting (5‑50 lbs.), stooping, standing, and sitting. The role includes exposure to inclement weather, unpleasant odors, sights, and moderate to high stress.
- Must be able to remain calm, prioritize, and maintain composure during stressful situations.
- Must remain calm and continue to function effectively during emergencies and high‑stress encounters.
- May require physical exertion during stressful encounters; may have to restrain individuals or deal with resistance.
- May be exposed to stressful situations, such as unauthorized area access.
- Assist in light snow removal and ice melt spreading.
- Assist in lifting or moving patients as requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Handle With Care certification within 3 months of hire or transfer.
- Strong critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain calm and take appropriate action in high‑stress or emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de‑escalate conflicts and manage difficult or sensitive situations.
- Basic report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.
- Previous security, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
