Position Title: Security, Emergency Services and Fire Protection Coordinator

Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions to provide a safe and hazard-free work environment. Performs other tasks as assigned. Provides leadership for plant security.

• Perform duties of Safety / Security Officer.
• Conduct training for all new safety / security and contract security personnel in all phases of the job.
• Update or create inspection forms and logs as needed.
• Provide leadership and verify security duties, e.g., inspections, patrols, etc., are being conducted.
• Maintain, service, and schedule service for all fire protection systems (CO2, dry, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, etc.).
• Coordinate emergency drills and evacuation procedures.
• Coordinate training for Emergency Response Team (confined space rescue, self-contained breathing apparatus, Hazwoper, medical emergencies, evacuation, and others as needed).
• Provide leadership during emergency situations.
• Assist Training and Development Supervisor as needed when training in safety/security and emergency procedure related classes.
• Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with local law enforcement and fire department.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.

• Knowledge of safety/security standards applicable to the security area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations.
• Basic working knowledge of computers (word processors, spreadsheets, email).
• Knowledge of all security/safety related equipment, rules/regulations, policies, procedures, and other topics related to training personnel.
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
• Skills in public speaking and managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to work flexible hours with little or no notice due to the nature of the job.

• Education: High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience: 5+ years of safety/security experience.

• Physical Requirements: Heavy work – pushing, pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 100 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum eight‑hour shift. Occasional climbing (high work) required.
• Environment: Regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste management, laundry workers, and yards/grounds staff.
