The Campus Safety Officer is a part-time position (up to 27.5 hours per week) located onsite in Union County. Day shifts and/or evening shifts are needed. Under the direction of the Campus Safety Shift Supervisor, the Campus Safety Officer is responsible for protecting individuals on campus property and maintaining the security of campus buildings, facilities, walkways, and grounds of the college.
Responsibilities- Act as a first responder to all campus emergencies.
- Make regular inspection tours of the campus buildings and facilities.
- Unlock buildings/doors for daily activities as well as special events.
- Direct visitors and assist them as necessary.
- Monitor parking lots and direct traffic and parking as necessary.
- Enforce campus policies including smoking, vaping, alcohol use and drug use.
- Act as a liaison for the college with local law enforcement.
- Watch for trespassers, fire, water leaks, or other circumstances which could lead to loss or damage to property and equipment.
- Monitor cameras located in the building for unusual activities.
- Complete a daily log of activities, and incident reports as needed.
- Enforce campus policies and procedures related to safety and security concerns.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of security experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office.
- Capable of multitasking and applying problem solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Retired law enforcement.
- Retired military.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
