Work Schedule:

0–30 hours per week, flexible, rotating shift (planned 11 months per year).

• Conduct hourly patrols of university buildings and grounds; secure rooms and premises during shifts, after business hours, and during special events.
• Identify and report facility problems (e.g., water leaks, electrical issues, inoperable doors, fire hazards, lights out) to the supervisor or complete a condition report.
• Respond to and investigate alarm activations, determining the problem and notifying the appropriate authorities.
• Act as liaison between faculty, staff, and students, maintaining a professional demeanor and providing information on university policies.
• Comply with departmental regulations and policies, document leave requests and timesheets, maintain and wear uniform and equipment, and assist in keeping the workplace secure and orderly.
• Assist with special events, including general security, foot and vehicle patrol, access control, metal detector setup, parking, traffic control, and other duties as assigned.
• Provide motorists assistance per protocol and contact telecommunications when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor to meet university goals.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Prior experience in security or protection work preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to handle emergency situations.
