• Operate HDD drills (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) to drill and install underground gas lines.
• Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed, including carrying pipe, bags of material, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping and installing pipe, duct or cable.
• Participate in manual labor tasks as required on project.
• Secure work sites, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and equipment safety. Ensure that all work is in compliance with the company’s safety protocols.
• Understand when to wear personnel protective equipment.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the foreman or supervisor.
• Execute job deliverables according to customer specifications and contract requirements.
• Ensure all project work is compliant with installation standards and is performed safely and correctly.
• Promote and monitor the safety of team members.
• Prepare sites to ensure maximum optimization of construction work procedures.

• Attention to detail to ensure all repairs, inspections and calibrations are performed to industry standards and fully documented.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Three to five years of experience operating HDD equipment in underground utility or pipeline construction.
• Previous experience in the natural gas industry is highly preferred.
• Certifications in HDD operation, safety training and utility locating is highly desirable.
