This is a mid-level position in the Facilities Department. The Building Systems Technician work‑study works under the immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or other assigned supervisor and may be assigned tasks in any and all of the aspects of facilities maintenance.
* Students must be enrolled in AT LEAST 6 credit hours to qualify for FWS Program. This is a part‑time opportunity. Students may work up to 15 hours per week, depending on their unmet need on their FASFA.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment required for the maintenance alteration and repair of buildings and for the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning equipment; recognized knowledge of trade practices in plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with college staff and faculty.
Required QualificationsProficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as building management systems, email, work order software, preventive maintenance software. Basic proficiency in the use of a computer and essential software applications such as email and some word processing is required.
Preferred Qualifications- Have a valid NC driver’s license.
- Experience and working knowledge of trade practices in plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning.
