Job Summary
The Facilities & Maintenance Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the facility. This includes performing routine building maintenance tasks, handling repairs, supporting facility improvements, and assisting with equipment upkeep. The role ensures that the workplace remains clean, safe, functional, and compliant with company standards and regulations.
Responsibilities and DutiesMaintenance & Equipment Operations
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems and equipment (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Ensure all production and facility equipment is operational and well-maintained.
- Operate equipment, such as skid-steers, telehandlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and tractors.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, warranties, inspections, licenses, and service agreements.
- Monitor and manage inventory of facility and maintenance supplies (e.g., cleaning, safety, and spare parts).
- Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or purchases.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- The schedule is based on the DuPong model, 4 current (night shift) vacancies
- Work schedule:
6:00pm-6:30am. - Differential shift pay for night position
Project Support
- Assist with infrastructure and facility improvement projects.
- Gather site data and provide measurements, layouts, and logistical input.
- Coordinate with internal teams and contractors to support safe and timely execution of project phases.
- Monitor work areas to minimize disruption to regular operations.
- Track project progress, materials, and timelines; perform follow-up inspections and adjustments post-project.
Safety & Compliance
- Support and enforce all safety procedures, responding to emergency maintenance and safety incidents.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation per company standards.
- Assist with waste management and recycling programs.
- Maintain clean and organized facility and mechanical areas.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and explosion-proof equipment.
- Familiarity with Class 1 Division 1 and Division 2 standards and control rooms.
- Ability to read and follow equipment manuals and manufacturer instructions.
- Capable of maintaining accurate records, including warranties and inventories.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), Slack, and ERP or CMMS software.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience safely operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Understanding of safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of, and ability to use, hand and power tools.
- Must understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous materials.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- Must adhere to company emergency policies, including chemical spill response.
- Required to complete in-house certifications including forklift operation, fire extinguisher training, and other safety courses as assigned.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 16 hours).
- Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working from heights (e.g., ladders, lifts, mezzanines).
- Frequent bending, kneeling, grasping, and repetitive motion required.
- Work performed in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme heat or cold.
- Exposure to fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and loud noise.
- Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery.
- Required to wear PPE including gloves, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses/goggles, respirators/masks, and others as necessary.
- Mandatory overtime, extended shifts, evenings, or weekends as needed.
