The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer’s vehicle, restoring it to pre-accident condition. The technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while supporting the company’s promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence. They work in alignment with all team members to achieve repair facilities KPIs and act as a Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates for customers, and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
- Repair dents, dimples, and other minor body damage, and mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
- Replace or repair interior parts as needed.
- Weld and attach parts, and prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure correct execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with other repairers within an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
- Proficiency in using trade tools.
- Work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage under various weather conditions.
- Perform bends, stretches, kneels, and squats to conduct repairs and inspections.

Compensation DetailsFLAT RATE
Estimated $50, / Year
Flat Rate Compensation is a performance‑based structure directly tied to turned hours, also referred to as booked hours. In the event that total compensation in a pay period is less than minimum wage, clocked hours will be calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater.
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
