Facilities Maintenance Technician – Building – 3471
Responsibilities include ensuring the painting needs of all campus facilities are met according to departmental standards. Tasks involve repairing sheetrock walls and plaster work, painting classroom and academic facilities, residence life buildings, and athletic fields, using rollers, brushes, sprayers, pressure cleaners, and a variety of hand tools. Must set up scaffolding and ladders, complete work orders timely, perform campus‑wide pressure cleaning, assist with departmental needs, and follow safety protocols.
Additional duties include graffiti removal, inventory management, semi‑annual facility inspections, providing support to other maintenance staff, and performing small construction projects as needed.
Tasks are performed with attention to detail, teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to safety protocols. Frequent lifting up to 60 lbs may be required, with heavier items lifted with assistance.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of directly related experience. High school graduation or equivalent; trade experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis. Must be able to lift heavy objects and work on ladders and scaffolding. Must pass a successful employment background check, including criminal, employment, license, and credit history checks. Veterans seeking preference must provide DD‑214. Must be willing to undergo background checks and work with safety procedures.
