JOB SUMMARY :
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of water meters.
- Responds to water customer complaints and investigates reported leaks.?
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of water meters and services.
- Assist in the compilation and retrieval of billing data.
- Respond to customer service complaints to resolve problems and to enhance public relations.
- Assist other departments and agencies in locating services to facilitate the construction and connection of services
- Repair water meter connections and fittings to ensure continuity of services to customers
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Must have obtained a High School diploma or an N.C. accredited GED.
- Must have a working knowledge of the water distribution system.
- Must have work experience with meter installation.
- Must be experienced in general water line pipe repair.
- Basic computer skills.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
