Definition:
This position is responsible for participating in the construction, operation and maintenance of the electric distribution system while energized at primary and secondary voltages.
Reports To:
The Supervisor assigns work in terms of general instructions.
An incumbent in this position may be designated as Electric Lineman Crew Leader, 1st Class, 2nd Class, or Apprentice Lineman dependent upon the qualification, experience and knowledge of the selected applicant.
This position requires residency within acceptable reception and transmission range of the City's 800 MHz radio system (approximately 20 miles).
Salary Range: $24.12-$36.18 per hour (Apprentice Lineman) $27.92-$41.89 per hour (2nd Class Lineman) $29.32-$43.98 per hour (1st Class Lineman) $30.79-$46.18 per hour (Crew Leader Lineman)
Hours:
7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday (40 hours per week and standby duties).
