Foreman - Plumbing Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of mechanical field employees, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and ensuring work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule plumbing projects, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately and deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with project managers and other contractors to coordinate plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct on‑site inspections to ensure compliance with plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and plan plumbing systems accordingly.
- Order and manage the inventory of plumbing materials, equipment, and tools needed to complete projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and other malfunctions.
- Keep accurate records of labor, materials, and project progress, and prepare reports as required.
- Mentor and train junior plumbers, providing guidance on best practices and promoting professional development.
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Foreman or similar leadership role in the plumbing industry.
- Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of mechanical field employees effectively.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a hands‑on approach to resolving technical issues.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Outstanding organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members.
- OSHA 30 Preferred
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments, including tight spaces and elevated areas, utilizing ladders and mobile personnel platforms (scissor lifts, boom lifts).
- Ability to safely use plumbing tools (e.g., saws, drills, grinders)
