Collision Center Technician
- Inspect damaged vehicles and determine repair requirements.
- Perform high-quality collision repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, frame and structural repairs.
- Prepare, repair, and refinish vehicles using industry-standard techniques and equipment.
- Match paint colors and apply primers, base coats, and clear coats to achieve factory-quality finishes.
- Operate body shop equipment including welders, sanders, paint sprayers, and frame repair equipment safely and effectively.
- Read and follow repair estimates, manufacturer repair procedures, and technical manuals.
- Work closely with estimators, service advisors, and fellow technicians to ensure repairs are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Complete repair documentation and communicate any additional damage discovered during the repair process.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following dealership and OSHA safety standards.
- Stay current on manufacturer repair procedures, equipment, and industry best practices through ongoing training.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training in automotive collision repair, auto body repair, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive body shop or collision repair environment.
- Proven ability to complete vehicle body repairs and refinishing work that meets quality standards.
- Dealership or I-CAR certification is a plus but not required.
- Proficiency with collision repair equipment, including sanders, welders, paint sprayers, and other body shop tools.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair methods, structural repair, and vehicle construction.
- Ability to read and interpret repair estimates, technical manuals, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
