• Perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles
• Identify mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipment
• Examine critical parts and systems using standard checklists and manufacturer guidelines
• Inspect internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulations
• Follow strategy-based diagnosis protocol to identify where problems exist and determine which parts need to be repaired or replaced
• Recommend needed repairs or maintenance on customer or company cars
• Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
• Complete preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as performing oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, tire rotation, and replacing brakes
• Perform assigned repairs to factory standards and dealership specifications
• Follow manufacturer and dealership repair procedures when performing any repairs
• Conduct post-repair testing and diagnostics to confirm proper operation, that repairs have been made properly, and that problems have been resolved
• Accurately identify and list the conditions, cause and remedy (“CCR”) on repair orders, using correct grammar and professional language
• Ensure that all paperwork is complete, accurate, and legible and finished in a timely fashion
• Continue to develop additional technical skills, as appropriate, to enable flexibility in work assignments
• Maintain knowledge of technical bulletins issued by the manufacturer and read 100% of those bulletins that apply to your own job assignments
• Obtain manufacturer training and/or (ASE) certification as determined necessary by the Service Manager
• Maintain a clean, safe and well organized work area
• Properly maintain tools and equipment when performing service work and follow correct safety practices
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

• Knowledge of vehicle/engine repair
• Additional education, certifications, or related experience generally preferred, including ASE certification, OEM certification, associate’s degree in auto maintenance and repair, etc.
• Possess a valid driver license
• Proficient with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software

• Knowledge of vehicle/engine repairs
• Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directions
